Double & Solo Racing Group member Michael McKeon is organising an Irish  Mini 6.50 campaign…

Following the success of the Mini open days sailing on his boat “HYPOMENE”, Michael would like to rally all interested parties in making sure that the boat is actively campaigned as the “Irish Mini” during the 2011 calendar!

Anyone interested in the Mini 6.50 class and / or  in sampling short-handed racing “the French way” is welcome.

THE MINI TRANSAT CLASS in Ireland

Keen and dedicated crew wanted for Ireland’s Mini Transat experience.

To support a Mini Transat racing campaign 2011, Ireland – France in Double Handed races and also as shore crew.

  • Require ISAF safety course
  • First Aid Certificate – 11 certified
  • ISA license
  • Doctors medical test, clearance
  • Share costs of campaigning

THE MINI TRANSAT is a 21-ft sailing boat that is raced solo across the Atlantic Ocean. It is the smallest Open Class yacht and a very spectacular boat.  It brings the largest fleet of offshore racing yachts on the starting line, with up to 100 of the same kind of boats. The sailing level is from pure amateur sailing up to professional sailing. The Class Mini gathers an average of 500 subscribers, most of them competitors coming from all kind of professions, from the carpenter to the engineer, the nurse to the steward, the journalist to the professional skipper
